The Buckingham School Celebrates GCSE and BTEC Level 2 Success: Thursday 20 August 2026

The Buckingham School is proud to celebrate the achievements of its Year 11 students as they receive their
GCSE and BTEC Level 2 results today.
Students, staff and families gathered this morning to celebrate the culmination of five years of learning at The Buckingham School. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and pride as students opened their results and reflected on everything they have achieved.
Today’s results reflect the hard work and commitment, and highlight the outstanding engagement and dedication shown by Year 11. Their achievements are a testament to the strength of our school community and the values that underpin everything we do.
Among the highlights of this year’s results were outstanding outcomes in Biology, with 84% of students achieving a grade 4 or above and strong and improving performance in languages, (with 80% of students achieving a grade 4 or above in Spanish and 69% in French), and French’s top grades (7-9) rising to 21%.
There have also been significant year-on-year improvements in PE, Sport BTEC and Sociology, with each seeing a marked rise in the proportion of students achieving a grade 4 or above (or equivalent) compared to 2025.
Whilst there have been clear steps forward as a school, what is really important are the many individual success stories, including:
- Kabs Senussi achieved an outstanding six grade 9s in Chemistry, Community Development, English Literature, Maths, Physics and Religious Studies, alongside two grade 8s and two grade 7s across her ten subjects.
- Daniel Lever achieved a grade 9 in Business Studies, three grade 8s (including English Language, English Literature and Geography) and three grade 7s, alongside a Merit in his BTEC Construction qualification.
- Brayden Bushay achieved a grade 9 in Spanish and four grade 8s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Physics as part of a strong set of results.
- Elijah Humphries achieved two grade 8s, in Business Studies and Spanish, backed up by five grade 7s including Biology, English Language, Geography, Maths and Psychology.
- Molly Osibogun achieved an impressive seven grade 7s, spanning Business Studies, Chemistry, Computer Science, English Language, Geography, Maths and Spanish — completing a consistently strong set of results.
Interim Executive Headteacher, Andrew McGinnes, expressed his pride in the students, saying:
We are a very special school, and these results are significant evidence of the fact that, on the back of last week’s marvellous Sixth Form results, we believe passionately in Success for All, and these Year 11 results demonstrate what the commitment of staff and students can achieve.
We are an inclusive school and we serve our community with pride. Whether it is those students who achieve grade 9s, or those ecstatic to achieve grade 4s, every student has a place in our school and can access the opportunities we offer.
This was an incredible year group, even by the standards of our recent years, and I salute all of our students, their teachers and all the support staff who have supported them throughout their journey. I single out their Head of Year, Mrs Ribbans, and an exceptional team of form tutors, for particular thanks.
Success for All is a vision that demands so much more than working hard in the classrooms. This Year 11 cohort embraced our core behaviours of Respect, Responsibility and Reflection and they are all developing into fine young adults.
For those staying with us for Sixth Form, and for those who have chosen that their next steps lie in pastures new, they can embark on their next challenges confidently, safe in the knowledge that their school is so very proud of them.
