Transition Journey Timeline
- Welcome letters - will be sent out to families in the Spring/early Summer term.
- Liaising/Visiting your child's school - we work closely with the primary schools and would under normal circumstances arrange to meet every student who will be joining us in September. As part of the transition team, our Head of Year and former students from the primary school join us for the school visit.
If we are unable to meet students in person this year, we will continue to work closely with Year 6 teachers and SENDCos, to gather as much information about all the children starting with us. A virtual visit will be arranged for the Transition team to meet everyone at their primary school via Google Meet or Zoom.
- Induction Day, Tuesday 6 July - Virtual Activity Programme
Following updated guidance received from Buckinghamshire Council to say unfortunately pupils cannot attend Induction in person, we have written to all primary schools with our revised plan to provide a virtual (not-live), activity based programme to run on Tuesday 6 July. This will include a set of transition videos and fun challenges for pupils to carry out in class. We will be posting the videos and challenges on the website so that children can access the material from home too!
- Extra Support Sessions throughout the Summer term - we work very closely with the primary schools to ensure all children make a smooth transition. We usually run sessions throughout the summer term for those children who need extra support with the transition from primary to secondary school.
