I have recently moved into retirement and taken time to get used to a different lifestyle and now feel ready to give back something to my community.  Before moving to Tingewick 6 years ago we lived in Winslow for 30 years, so I know the area, where The Buckingham School students come from very well.  The Buckingham School is responsible for a large proportion of the next generation who will live and work in the area, a vital role with huge implications for so many lives.  Maybe my skills and experience can be used for good for a few more years.

My working life has always been in education.  I started my career as a class teacher, and it was not until after I had my family and returned to work that I undertook my MA and then moved into headship.  I have been the Head Teacher of two schools, a school improvement adviser and inspector.  I have worked on several national education programmes, including Healthy Schools and the NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship.)

I have been married for forty-seven years and have two children and four grandchildren, three of whom attend The Buckingham School.  My eldest grandchild also attended the school and has now successfully entered the world of work.  I enjoy gardening, walking, reading and embroidery and since retiring have taken up Pilates!

I consider it a privilege to be part of The Buckingham School Governing Board and to work with the staff of the school who have such a responsible job nurturing and helping the young people in their care to learn and blossom into the adults of the future.
